Slightly larger than the sanctuary Pabha, the district of Sonitpur contains this wonderful wildlife sanctuary Sonai Rupai. Has in store for you, not only the exotic wildlife but also a fascinating view of the surrounding scenic beauty. The wildlife sanctuary Sonai Rupai covers an area of 175 sq. kms. The entire area stretches along the Himalayan foothills. This vault plays home to the elephant, the Indian bison, the deer and loads of other animals you may want to see. It also contains varieties of birds of the hill. You can also take a look at the one-horned rhinoceros, leopard, tiger and other cats in the relationship.

Located in the hills of eastern Himalayas, Nameri National Park covers an area of about 200 sq-kms. The mountains, the leaves of deciduous and the river Jia Bhoroli have added a unique charm to it. Is about 35 kilometers away from Tezpur, which is 181 km from Guwahati.

Fauna: The rich fauna that includes this park is tiger, elephant, leopard, clouded leopard, Indian bison, Pangolin, Indian wild dog, civet cat, birds of capsulate Langur, the jackal etc. including several species of Hornbill and four reptiles were also found here.

The wildlife sanctuary is located Sonai Rupai in Tezpur, in Sonitpur district, Assam. The sanctuary is separated until the end along the foothills of the Himalayan range. The sanctuary covers an area around 175square.kilometers. It is the prefect place to enjoy the immense beauty of mother nature at its best. Along with the scenic view, one can also see a wide range of animals around. The period between the months of November to March is the ideal time to visit the shrine.
