The ministry of tourism has said that revenues of foreign currency from tourism have also gone up. In 2007 it was Rs.440 Rs.500 billion in 2008. This is a positive sign that Indian tourism industry has got business even in the worst situations.

Indian tourism has suffered a bout of setback due to the global economic recession as well as the Mumbai attack. Hence, I believe this is the time for aggressive promotional campaigns of tourism...

What you have said is right india has suffered a lots with the recent mumbai attacks and the global economic slowdown. The government of india and other private players are making all efforts to revamp the industry in a year or so.
